Destinations: Kruger National Park, South Africa..

The Kruger National Park lies in the north-east of South Africa. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is one of the world's great wildlife areas. It covers over 19,000 km2, with savanna, bush, plains, woodlands and wetlands. Kruger is home to the so-called Big Five mammals - lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. Of course, there are many other animals, too, including a rich birdlife. The park has several camps, of quite high standard, and excursions can be arranged from these to see the key species. One can also self-drive the park on good, marked routes, but in most areas it is not allowed to leave vehicles.
