Destinations: Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park, Thailand

The Doi Pha Hom Pok is the northernmost national park in Thailand. It lies right on the border with Myanmar and is mountainous and mostly forested. It is a popular destination for birders and bird photographers. Indeed, so much so that the latter are asked to adhere to a few rules! Species birds here include Himalayan Cutia, Long-tailed Sibia, Red-tailed Laughingthrush, Black-throated Bushtit, Mrs Hume's Pheasant and Giant Nuthatch. Access is from the settlements of Fang and Thaton (where there are various kinds of accommodation and restaurants, which the NP lacks), both of which are around 3 hours drive from the city of Chiang Mai.
